Charles Spurgeon Baptised
Charles Spurgeon was baptised on this date in history 1850. What is significant is that he was baptised after his conversion as an adult and the manner was submersion. This drew quite a crowd to the Lark river in England to observe someone being baptised in such a manner as infant baptism was the standard at the time. A stone marker now stands on the bank to mark the occasion. Spurgeon would go on to become arguably the greatest preacher since the apostle Paul.
