"Obamacare" Passes Senate
The Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare") was passed in the U.S. Senate with all Democratic Senators voting in favor and all Republicans voting against. Regarded by some as Pres. Obama's signature cause for his presidency, the Pres. assured Americans they could "keep their doctors" and "keep their health plans". Those who do not enroll and do not have health coverage will be penalized in the form of a new tax.
